Prahlad, was the son of the Demon-King, Hiranyakashipu, who commanded all his subjects to worship him and not Lord Vishnu, his sworn enemy. However, Prahlad became an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the Universe. Enraged by his son’s devotion, his father tried various ways to kill Prahlad, but he escaped death every time, by the grace of Vishnu.
