Goddess Lakshmi rose from the churning of the ocean of milk. She is the Goddess of wealth and good fortune. She sits on a lotus and the white owl is Her vehicle. The Goddess is brightly adorned in red, gold and yellow hues. She blesses those who work hard, show virtues and courage. On Diwali we welcome Her by lighting earthen lamps.
